Preview for NDI Privacy Policy

Discovery and reception
Preview for NDI discovers network sources when the app starts, before you select Connect. It processes source names and addresses and receives video, audio and metadata from the selected source through the NDI runtime. The reviewed application discards received metadata rather than saving its contents to logs or recordings. Reception and discovery involve network communication, including protocol responses; reception does not mean that no data is sent. Automatic connection to a saved source is optional and off by default.
The app does not directly capture your PC's camera or microphone. Received media may contain another sender's camera video, microphone audio or other personal information.
Playback, recordings and snapshots
Received audio plays through the Windows default audio output. When you use the recording or snapshot functions, the app saves MP4 recordings or PNG images to your chosen location. Recordings include received video and available audio, up to the first two audio channels. Playback volume, mute and delay settings do not change recorded audio: muting playback does not mute recording. You are responsible for obtaining permission to view and record the source content.
Settings, logs and deletion
Settings are stored in INI files, normally under %LOCALAPPDATA%\ndi-preview, including source names, addresses, output paths, playback preferences and window settings. They are not encrypted by the app. A command-line settings option can select another location. Imported and exported settings may contain the same information.
Logs contain operational events, selected source names, recording events and errors. The reviewed code does not save media samples in diagnostic logs and has no automatic log expiry or rotation. Default recordings are in the application's Recordings subfolder. Windows may redirect application data for packaged installations.
Your chosen output or settings location may be a network drive or a folder synchronized by another service; files are not guaranteed to stay on one computer. Close the app and use Windows file management to remove settings, logs, recordings or snapshots you no longer need. Removing settings resets saved preferences. Uninstalling does not necessarily delete files saved outside the application's data location. For a Microsoft Store installation, Windows can keep redirected application data under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\VideoSupporterSoft.NDIPreview_5f4ykyg8gfs78. Close the app before deleting files. Check that package folder and %LOCALAPPDATA%\ndi-preview for this app's settings and logs, and remove only the app files you intend to delete. You can uninstall the app through Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps (Apps & features on Windows 10). Windows removes private package data on uninstall, but files in native, exported, shared or other user-selected locations may remain and must be removed separately. Back up recordings or settings you want to keep before removing data.
Publisher and third-party processing
The reviewed application code has no account system, advertising, publisher analytics upload or automatic cloud upload. The closed-source NDI runtime's complete network behavior has not been audited. NDI publishes privacy information for its websites and services and a separate notice for NDI Tools that discusses usage and device data. Those notices do not by themselves establish which collection, if any, is performed by this app's bundled SDK runtime. NDI privacy information ↗ and NDI Tools privacy information ↗ is a reference, not verification of all runtime behavior.
Support and website use
Support links open your default browser or mail application when selected. Preview for NDI does not automatically send email. Messages and files you choose to send are shared with support and its communication providers. Check settings, media and logs before sending them.
The application is provided by an individual publisher trading as VideoSupporterSoft. Contact: [email protected]. Website analytics and the contact form are covered separately by the website privacy policy; they are not app analytics. Support messages, including the sender's email address, message text and attachments, are normally retained for one year from receipt and then deleted. They may be kept longer only while needed to continue handling the inquiry or meet a legal obligation, and are deleted when that need ends.
