Camera, microphone and network use

USB Cam for NDI accesses the camera and, when enabled, microphone you select. It displays a local preview and sends selected video and audio through the NDI runtime while transmission is active. If you enable Auto Start, transmission can start after launch. Stop ends transmission; the camera preview can continue until the app closes.

NDI receivers that discover and connect to the source may receive this media. Source names and network discovery information may be visible to other devices. Use a network appropriate for your content and avoid personal information in source names. This app's media and discovery functions involve network communication.

Settings, logs and files

The app stores settings, selected device identifiers, camera properties and diagnostic logs under %LOCALAPPDATA%\USB Cam for NDI. Windows may redirect application data in packaged installations. Exported settings are saved to your chosen location and may include device and source names. A shared or synchronized folder may make exported files available through other services.

Version 2.4.0 does not create recordings. Recordings from earlier versions are retained. After closing the app, you can remove settings, logs and earlier recordings using Windows file management. Removing settings resets saved preferences. Do not assume uninstalling removes exported files or earlier recordings; check their saved locations. For a Microsoft Store installation, Windows can keep redirected application data under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\VideoSupporterSoft.NDIUSBCAM_5f4ykyg8gfs78. Close the app before deleting files. Check that package folder and %LOCALAPPDATA%\USB Cam for NDI for this app's settings and logs, and remove only the app files you intend to delete. You can uninstall the app through Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps (Apps & features on Windows 10). Windows removes private package data on uninstall, but files in native, exported, shared or other user-selected locations may remain and must be removed separately. Back up recordings or settings you want to keep before removing data.

On logger initialization, the app removes .log files in its log folder whose last-modified time is more than seven days old. This is an app-start cleanup, not a promise that files are deleted exactly after seven days while the app is closed. Settings and earlier recordings are not covered by that log cleanup.

Publisher and third-party processing

The reviewed application code does not implement publisher analytics, advertising, an account system, cloud storage or automatic log uploads. This describes the reviewed application code, not all internal behavior of the closed-source NDI runtime. The runtime has not been fully audited for network processing. NDI publishes privacy information for its websites and services and a separate notice for NDI Tools that discusses usage and device data. Those notices do not by themselves establish which collection, if any, is performed by this app's bundled SDK runtime. Support and website use

Support and NDI links open your browser or mail application when selected. Contacting support shares the message and any files you choose to send. Avoid sending media, settings or logs containing information you do not want to disclose.

The application is provided by an individual publisher trading as VideoSupporterSoft. Contact: [email protected]. Website inquiries, website analytics and the portal contact form are described separately in the website privacy policy. Those website analytics are not described here as features of the Windows app. Support messages, including the sender's email address, message text and attachments, are normally retained for one year from receipt and then deleted. They may be kept longer only while needed to continue handling the inquiry or meet a legal obligation, and are deleted when that need ends.
